Benefit - They're Real Push-Up Liner Review and First Impressions
I was so excited when I received this in the mail from Benefit. I love the mascara from this line so trying this out was something I was VERY eager to do. This product is very unique and something I have never seen before. The tip is a angled rubber tip with a hole where the gel liner pushes through. The tip is very pointy and reminds me a lot of a calligraphy pen.
When first opening this product and tested it on my hand I was really happy with how dark it was. I also liked that it dried matte and it didn't have that wet sheen to it that some liquid liners have. It also did not smudge at all once it dried which was a major plus!
When using it on my eye it was a little more difficult. I feel like this product is something that requires some practice… but once you have it down it works pretty well! My eye shape (slightly portruding) is very difficult to do winged eyeliner on and they require a really tiny brush to get a good pointy shape. But for someone with naturally almond shaped eyes, I think this would work great.
One thing I noticed with this product is that it tends to clump up a little bit if you aren't careful. You want to make sure you don't push too much eyeliner up at once. Especially when you are doing the wing. This can cause the product to get really messy and ball up a little bit. Just pushing up a tiny (and I mean tiny) bit of eyeliner each time works best and gives you the best result.
One thing I loved about this liner was how easy it was to get close to the lash line. It went on SO smoothly and it wasn't hard to apply at all. It's a very soft liner so it's not difficult to get the pigment onto the skin which is a huge plus for me!
Over all I would give this product 4 out of 5 stars. I feel like the actual eyeliner is amazing. If it was in pot form I feel like it could possibly be one of the better gel eyeliners out there. But for my particular eye shape I had a hard time with the packaging and the tip (only for the wing … it worked great for the lash line). Like I said though, I could see this working AMAZING on someone with naturally almond shaped eyes. It's definitely a product I would check out when you are in Sephora next. I could definitely see this working great for some and it's definitely worth swatching and playing with!
